Abstract

This paper discusses a way to introduce the concepts of usability and usability testing into an undergraduate human-computer interface class that does not require an elaborate or expensive usability lab setting. This approach gives students a more concrete understanding of the concepts that are covered in the course and engages them in a way that lectures cannot. An appendix includes the complete set of course topics as well as an outline of the project deliverables.
