In this chapter, we describe a method of using synthetic vision for road traffic simulation in a 3D virtual environment. We have implemented the synthetic vision techniques to cater for the dynamical features of the road traffic scenario by presenting an algorithm that is incorporated in the system to estimate the motion distributions of the scene at each animation frame. Multiple visual fields have been used to adjust and evaluate the driving conditions. Autonomous virtual vehicles in our system can make decisions based on a perceptual approach.
