In large software organizations, a maintenance process is seldom monolithic. Instead, it is a complex family of various processes collaborating with each other, where each process executes a clearly defined task. In this paper, we describe and compare two change execution processes utilized within maintenance by two ABB organizations, namely ABB Automation Products AB and ABB Robotics AB. Thus, this paper is the report of the current state of practice in change execution at ABB. It is also the continuation of a comparative study on the collaborating maintenance processes used for the administration of software problems [11].
