Abstract

Global competition and changing organizationalstructures are causing organizations to investigate howorganizational memory information systems (OMISS) canbe developed to capture and integrate the experientialknowledge formerly contained in the memories of long-termemployees. This paper explores OMIS data andprocess requirements and salient implementation issues,and summarizes existing OMIS implementations accordingto these characteristics. This summary identifies strategiescurrently being employed by developers to fulfill OMISrequirements.
