Virtual Enterprises are complex entities and representa number of business situations. We have analysed anagent-based approach to support the formation of VirtualEnterprises using several industrial case studies. Wepresent our results as an evaluation framework to identifythe applicability of the approach to support the formationof Virtual Enterprises. It is an inexpensive indicator ofwhen the approach will be suitable to adopt and it helpsto fill a gap in the evaluation methods for theapplicability of a particular technology for a particularVirtual Enterprise situation.
