This paper presents a very efficient and versatile methodto handle Dynamic Voltage Scaling for minimizing energyconsumption in an embedded system processor while maintainingreal time deadlines. It achieves this by creatingpseudo operating frequency levels between the discrete frequencylevels supported by the system, thereby addressingthe root cause of inefficiency i.e. inability to vary frequencycontinuously. Simulation suggests that this method, in conjunctionwith DVS algorithms, achieves upto 70% energysavings which is an improvement of upto 25% over the bestexisting algorithms.
