Abstract

In this paper, we describe our methodology for cosimulationat a high level of abstraction, to validate theexecution of real time applications on simulated H/W,using a simulation wrapper of a real time operatingsystem (RTOS). The simulation wrapper is built on kerneltarget specification described in a kernel frameworkmodel (KFM), by adding the constructs needed forsimulation dynamics to create a simulation model of anRTOS. We describe these dynamics and then show theinteraction of the embedded S/W consisting of thesimulation model of the RTOS and the applicationrunning above, with a bus functional model (BFM) of amicro-controller. Our methodology is demonstrated byS/W application.
