In this paper we introduce a system called e-Fuzionbased on using computing devices, such as TabletPCs, that empower students and teachers with bettertechnologies for educational interaction. We proposean e-Fuzion integration with ubiquitous computerenvironments of smart devices and active spacesusing a system called Gaia. At present, e-Fuzionfacilitates electronic communication in a seamless, integrated classroom, giving students additional waysto interact with faculty and each other. e-Fuzionencourages students to participate actively even inlarge scale class settings. By integrating e-Fuzioninto an active space, we enhance the effectiveness ofthe existing system by taking advantage of theubiquitous nature of smart devices and their uniquecommunication capabilities. The end result is thatstudents are able to interact, record data and shareideas more quickly than in the traditional classroom.
