This paper presents an analysis of the faultssensitivity of Quasi Delay Insensitive (QDI)asynchronous circuits. Faults considered in this workcan be either natural or intentional. However, faultinjection attacks which consist in causing anintentional temporary dysfunction of a circuit byinjecting faults in its combinational or sequential partsare of prime interest. This failure enables hackers toaccess protected memory areas or secret informationlike cryptographic keys. This work focuses onanalysing the sensitivity of asynchronous circuits tofault injection. A circuit fault-sensitivity criterion isdefined, which enables to point out weak parts of thecircuits in order to specify hardening strategies.
