This paper presents a software tool that supports teaching, assessment and student directed learning in AI and multi-agent systems courses. e-Game is a configurable on-line auction server that promotes active learning through the use of simulation exercises. The system can be used to teach and demonstrate principles in negotiation protocols, market mechanisms and agent strategies. Moreover, it provides the facilities for instructors to develop exercises that can be used for teaching or assessment providing the students with a challenging and interactive environment and the opportunity to experiment and put into practice the principles taught.
