Abstract

The clock pulse and event algorithms are compared for efficiency at various activity levels of a simulation of traffic flow. For low levels of system activity the event algorithm is more efficient (in terms of ratio of real time to similar time). As system activity is raised the increase in the relative efficiency of the clock pulse algorithm is studied empirically.
