Abstract

High turnover in the IS context has been recognized as an area of concern. Therefore, many IS researchers have focused on the study of issues related to turnover. However, there is still a limited understanding of the idiosyncrasies of the IS context, which could affect employees' attitudes toward the organization and the job. This paper is a part of an ongoing research program which focuses on understanding the unique characteristics of the IS job environment. It aims to provide a logical framework for studying the IS context and understanding IS employee job related outcomes, such as turnover intention to develop better guidelines for IS personnel management.
