The concept of trust is becoming an increasingly important factor in electronic payment (e-payment). This research investigates the rising role of collaborative coupons as new transaction media. We construct a framework for a trust-based e-payment scheme to explain the behaviour of trust within e-payment activities. By conducting a case study, we draw special attention to the impact of collaborative coupons on the e-payment schemes. The collaborative coupons schemes, whilst primarily aimed at promotion scheme, are not limited to such schemes, but also address the new way of implementing e-payment activities.
