Abstract

Virtual reality (VR) is an emerging field with many exciting applications. Despite its growing popularity, VR is often neglected in most undergraduate computer science programs. This paper presents several resources to support low-cost virtual reality and describes the VR laboratory at the author's institution. Topics discussed in this paper include stereo projection systems, tracking, and haptics, with an emphasis on low-cost implementations that are possible at most institutions.
