Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is currently one of the active research fields. When streaming data transmission, some nodes might use up their power and the source has to route packages to destination along a longer path. The lifetime of the network might be decrease with too many nodes dies. We proposed the Battery-Aware Modified Depth-First Search (BAR-MDFS) Protocol to balance the consumption of the whole network and extend lifetime of the network. Our protocol might jump less hops than other existing protocols. In addition, our protocol is sensitive to battery status. The experiment shows that our protocol balances consumption of energy of nodes and can prolong the surviving time of the network.
