Abstract

The Faculty of electrical engineering and computer science is one of biggest faculties in the frame of the University of Maribor, Slovenia. Originally the basic research area of the faculty was in engineering but for many years a lot of research activities are concentrated on computer science and informatics. Information systems, information and data modelling as well as knowledge bases, knowledge based systems and knowledge management are the most important research topics nowadays. In the paper, we have collected some research results, covering the above mentioned topics. Most of them have been conducted by young researchers, Ph.D. students and post doctoral students, who are experts in the above mentioned research areas.
