Abstract

This paper reports on an ongoingproject involving researchers from LancasterUniversity and a branch of a landscape architecturefirm. It explores some of the possibilities pursued inthe project as well as the conditions theyencountered. Specifically, it describes theintroduction of support for graphic work andelectronic communication in a context characterised bycontinuous financial pressure, downsizing, and theneed for short term gains. It seeks to contribute tothe accumulation of experience within theparticipatory design community by reporting on anongoing project as regards its objectives inrelationship to its context.
