Abstract

The paper discusses a structured light setup for fast, one-shot 3D acquisition. The projection pattern consists of equidistant, vertical stripes. The main problem is the determination of the stripe-boundaries. They are extracted with sub-pixel accuracy by a pattern-specific snake. An initialization procedure yields the rough contours. Subpixel accuracy is reached through an iterative relaxation process. The labeling problem is automatically solved if all boundaries are located. Interpolation guarantees that the correct number of boundaries is initialized.
