Indoor positioning systems haven't been readily accessible outside the realms of industrial research and academia. One reason is that positioning technologies have been too expensive and complex for the inexperienced user. The development of inexpensive, easy-to-use positioning technology should make the deployment of location-based applications easier for ubiquitous-systems designers.
