Over the years, many studies have explored the potential of virtual reality technologies to support collaborative work, especially for training and simulation applications. With the use of a virtual environment, one can create applications for simulation and training, capable of representing real scenes, also allowing greater flexibility for making structural changes in objects and dealing with other aspects of virtual scenery, to, for example, simulate emergency situations and accidents, difficult to be simulated in a real scenario. This work studies the use of collaboration in heterogeneous immersive environments to support training of users. A group of collaborative tools to support the common tasks performed in virtual environments are proposed and an application is built to test the collaborative training between a user immersed in a CAVE and a remote user is not immersed, using a desktop computer.
