We describe a collaborative virtual environmentsystem for visualization of diffusion magnetic resonanceimaging scans. The system represents the 3D data byarrays of polyhedra, coloured by the degree of anisotropyand directed by the principal component of the diffusiontensor. Users can then collaboratively explore the dataand interactively spawn tractography procesess thatcompute tracks that depict white matter fibre pathwaysthrough the brain. These tracks are computed on a Gridservice currently supporting 72 nodes on a Beowulfcluster.
