Abstract

This paper describes gaming and storytelling activities in a mixed environment that integrates the real world, augmented reality and synthetic worlds. The system described here is applied to a painting gallery or museum but the supporting framework is broader and it can be applied to different mixed environments. A hypermedia model that can handle modeling physical objects and virtual ones, in a common augmented framework, supports all the activities. One of the main features of the proposed model is the possibility of handling, in a uniform way, the location of objects in the physical and virtual worlds. The described gaming and exploration activities use this hypermedia model to maintain relations between different items.
