Abstract

We present a real-time hybrid tracking system thatintegrates gyroscopes and line-based vision trackingtechnology. Gyroscope measurements are used topredict orientation and image line positions.Gyroscope drift is corrected by vision tracking.System robustness is achieved by using a heuristiccontrol system to evaluate measurement quality andselect measurements accordingly. Experiments showthat the system achieves robust, accurate, and real-timeperformance for outdoor augmented reality.
