An algorithm that was designed for the data typically found in reservoir simulation and structural analysis is presented. Designed for general applicability and high efficiency, it can be used to visualize scalar volumes of irregular computational meshes. The algorithm accepts as input virtually any 3-D mesh used in computer simulations. Pictures of practical value can be drawn interactively.
